Who shoots portrait photography in Istanbul?
Sefa Yamak, photographing since 2000. His portrait work spans editorial work for Kun Magazine and ALL Magazine, long-running fine-art portrait series shot in India, Nepal and Anatolia, and individual portrait work with public figures including Deniz Işın and Damlasu İkizoğlu.
Is this the same as a celebrity or magazine shoot?
It can be, but a portrait session doesn't have to be. Some of the work is editorial, for named public figures; some draws instead on the same fine-art sensibility behind the India, Nepal and Anatolia series.
Can you produce a larger portrait shoot with styling and a full crew?
Yes. For editorial-scale shoots — hair and makeup, styling, studio or location, a full crew — PAM Istanbul, the production studio Sefa founded in 2018, supports the shoot alongside him.
Do you only shoot public figures, or editorial work too?
Both. The work ranges from named public figures to magazine editorial; what stays constant is the same direct, unposed approach.
