Untitled Portraits — Anatolia / 01Her Lamb
Color portrait of a young girl with ponytails in a knit sweater hugging a white lamb, snow behind her — fine art portrait by Sefa Yamak, Anatolia series.

Anatolia, Turkey · 2017

Her Lamb

She carried the lamb the way you carry something you do not want to drop.

This story imagines, it does not document. It is what the photograph made me feel.

Her sweater was bright against the snow and she looked at me sideways, half shy and half pleased. The lamb stayed still in her arms. I kept the colour because the day had so little of it.

— Sefa Yamak, Doğubayazıt. Anatolia series.
