Untitled Portraits — Anatolia / 07Wire and Glasses
Colour close portrait of an elderly woman in old wire-rimmed glasses and a white headscarf with red trim, looking straight ahead in a doorway — fine art portrait by Sefa Yamak, Anatolia series.

Anatolia, Turkey · 2017

Wire and Glasses

Her glasses are old wire-rimmed ones, mended and held on with a loop of dark thread by her ear.

This story imagines, it does not document. It is what the photograph made me feel.

She looked straight into the lens without softening anything. I stood close and let her hold the look as long as she wanted.

— Sefa Yamak, Rize. Anatolia series.
