Across the Table
I put the camera flat on the table to see the game from where the cards live.

This story imagines, it does not document. It is what the photograph made me feel.
The deck and a lone three of clubs sit huge in the front while the two players go small behind them. The younger one across from him is half smiling, waiting. Under the tin roof the afternoon felt slow and good.
