The Pigeon Seller
He held three or four white pigeons up against his chest at the bird market.
// Story
This story imagines, it does not document. It is what the photograph made me feel.
The sky behind had gone heavy and dark over the stalls and an old stone tower. The birds stayed calm in his hands while he looked straight at me. I made the frame before they shifted their wings.
