Tea on the Step
She sat folded into a doorway with a glass of tea raised in one hand.

This story imagines, it does not document. It is what the photograph made me feel.
Her trousers were a bold circle print and her knitted cap sat a little crooked. The old plaster around her was bare and grey. She gave me a small, easy smile and I took it.
