He sat at the edge of a teahouse table with prayer beads hanging from one hand and a ring on the other.

This story imagines, it does not document. It is what the photograph made me feel.
A glass of tea waited on the table next to him. His white shirt and vest caught the dim indoor light, the wall behind worn and grey. He held my look without hurry.
