Holding Her Up
He wanted me to photograph the framed portrait more than himself, so he raised it to cover his own face.
// Story
This story imagines, it does not document. It is what the photograph made me feel.
Only the top of his head and his glasses show above the frame. A second framed photograph leans on the cot beside him, and a water pot sits on the ledge behind. The room was cool and almost empty.
