The Cup Between Them
An old hand and a small hand are wrapped around the same cup.

This story imagines, it does not document. It is what the photograph made me feel.
The child drinks with eyes lifted just over the rim, watching me the whole time. The grown hand is creased and dark, the child's still soft. I moved in close and let everything but the two hands and the eyes go dark.
