Two Horses, One Boy
He sat on one horse and held the lead of the other while the clouds piled up behind him.
This story imagines, it does not document. It is what the photograph made me feel.
The snow was still on the mountains, and the light was going. He held both animals without any fuss, as if he had done it many times. I kept the second horse close in the frame because it was as much a part of him as the saddle.
