Untitled Portraits — Anatolia — Black / 02The Wide Grin
Black and white close portrait of a smiling man in a knit beanie and dark jacket, open country behind him — fine art portrait by Sefa Yamak, Anatolia series.

Anatolia, Turkey · 2017

The Wide Grin

He gave me a full open smile, the kind people give when they are not trying to look like anything.

This story imagines, it does not document. It is what the photograph made me feel.

The lines on his face moved with it. His beanie was pulled low and the country behind him was flat and pale. I stayed close and let the grin fill the frame.
