He was walking the flock in when I stopped him for a moment.

This story imagines, it does not document. It is what the photograph made me feel.
The sheep moved on behind him and the track ran back over the dark wet ground. His coat was open over a checked shirt and the sky pressed down grey. He looked at me long enough for the one frame, then went back to the animals.
